What age range is the Cash Kids Club suitable for?

The Cash Kids Club is for children 12 and under who are eager to learn about money in a fun and engaging way! Once a child reaches age 13, their account will transition to a Statement Savings account, ensuring they continue their financial journey with age-appropriate resources and guidance.

Is there a fee to join the Cash Kids Club?

There is no fee to join the Cash Kids Club.  You just need to open a Cash Kids Club savings account at one of our banking centers! It’s a simple step that opens the door to a world of financial fun and learning for a child in your life.

How do I open a BayFirst Cash Kids Club account?

Opening a Cash Kids Club Savings account is easy! Just visit any BayFirst banking center with your ID and a social security card or birth certificate for the minor. From there, our friendly staff will guide you through the process and get your child started.

Please note: While the child does not need to be present for an adult to open their account, a child who wants to open an account must be accompanied by the adult joint account holder.

What do I need to bring to open a Cash Kids Club Savings Account?

We require proof of identification, such as a social security card or birth certificate, for the minor and a valid ID for the adult opening the account on their behalf.

Who can open a Cash Kids Club account on the child’s behalf?

Typically, the account is opened by a parent for their child. However, grandparents, other family members, and even friends can also open a custodial account for a minor.

1Cash Kids Club Savings is a tiered, interest-bearing savings account. The interest rate and corresponding annual percentage yield (APY) are tiered. If the daily balance in the account is less than $500, the interest rate paid on the entire balance will be 4.72% with an APY of 4.83%. An interest rate of 2.77% will be applied on daily balances equal to or greater than $500.00 but less than $3,000, the APY for this tier will be 2.81%. An interest rate of 1.53% will be applied on daily balances equal to or greater than $3,000 with an APY of 1.54%. Interest rate is effective as of 4/2/26. Rates are variable and are subject to change at the bank’s discretion. Rates are calculated on a daily balance method. Fees may reduce earnings. No minimum balance requirement. Minimum to open is $10.00. Limited to one Cash Kids Club Savings account per child. You may make six (6) withdrawals/transfers from your account each month, by pre-authorized or automatic transfer, or telephone (including data transmission) agreement, order or instruction. Transfers and withdrawals made in person, by mail, or at an ATM are unlimited. The methods of account access vary by product type, and certain account access methods may not be available with all products. At the age of thirteen (13), the account will be converted to a Statement Savings account.
